Raphael Santi

Raphael Santi was born in Urbino, Italy in 1483. He started painting at a very early age with his father Giovanni Santi, who was not a famous painter himself, but was widely respected by the Italian nobility. After his father died in 1494 Raphael moved to Perugia Italy where he became a master at the tender age of 16. There he created a style of painting that portrayed a personís gentle features while making them appear flawless. Throughout his career he painted everything from the common Madame to the Pope Julius ll.
