Pieter Bruegel

Pieter Bruegel was born in 1527 in Breda Netherlands and is considered the greatest Flemish painter of the 16th century. He developed an original style that uniformly holds narrative meaning. Bruegel focused more on realistic rather than mythological paintings as shown through his works of panoramic landscapes and peasant farmers. He also did religious allegories, and social satires, but it was in nature that he found his true inspiration.
