John Butler grew up in a small cottage with a large garden in the English countryside. From a young age, he spent much of his time sketching and painting the wildlife around him. After leaving Art College, he fulfilled his ambition to travel by taking a safari across West Africa. He was inspired to illustrate and paint the animals he encountered. It was at that time that John developed his technique for capturing the characteristics and charm of each animal he drew, achieving a perfect balance between true realism and loveable cuteness. Upon his return to England, he wrote and illustrated his popular and well-loved series of childrenís books. Visit www.mgllicensing.com to see more images.
