Haruyo Morita

Haruyo Morita was born in Kita-Katsushika County, Saitama Prefecture, in 1945. From an early age her artistic talents were evident, and she came under the tutelage of Master Husuki. He introduced her to the classic narratives and pictorial compositions that have made Japanese images so popular in Japan and in the West. Her work can best be described as a contemporary representation of the traditional Ukiyo-e, ranging from the Heian to Edo and Meiji periods. She resides on the New Wales coast at Korora, Australia, where the light and climate are prefect for her work. Visit www.mgllicensing.com to see more images.
